Compare flats and places to rent or stay, side by side.
The places setup names each row a Place and adds an Each month column for the rent, counted over 12 months. Must-haves are Two bedrooms, Parking and Pets allowed. Contact and Phone or email record the agent, and there are no quote dates.
- Excel 2016 and later
- Calculations checked in LibreOffice and Google Sheets
- Name each rowType what each row is called, such as Quote, Provider or Place. It becomes the first column heading and the sheet name.
- Write your must-havesList up to six, one per line. Each becomes a column answered Yes, Partly or No. Choose the currency and how many months to compare costs over.
- Download and add optionsDownload the workbook, open the sheet and add each quote as it arrives. The total, the gap from the cheapest and the Summary update automatically.

Questions
Are my builder entries sent to Due Form?
No. The builder uses them in your browser to make the workbook on your device.
Information is sent to Due Form when you submit a form or use another service described on the How it works page.
Where do I record the deposit?
Put fees that are not refundable in One-off extras. Deposits that come back are better in Notes, so they do not raise the total cost of the place.
Can I compare places to stay on holiday?
Yes. Change the row name to Stay, enter the nightly total as the price, and set must-haves such as Sleeps six. There is no per-night column, so work out the total first.
