Drawings of a darkroom print with a test strip, a house with a service note, a week calendar with ticks, and a rough stone becoming a polished one

Record a house repair, darkroom exposure, stone-cutting stage or decision while the details are available. These examples show which entries you can refer to when the task comes round again.

Return to a darkroom print

The Darkroom Print Record links a black-and-white negative to its paper, test strips, exposures, dodging, burning and assessment after drying. Record the final printing notes and the location of each finished copy. When you return to the negative, the record shows what you did and what changed between versions.

Find the history of a house repair

The House Record links each repair, alteration or service to the room, fixed system, materials, invoice and photographs involved. Its schedule records when work was last done and when servicing is next due. Handover pages list the documents and known gaps for the next person.

Plan against available hours

The Week Book provides thirteen undated weeks. Start with fixed commitments, subtract the time you want to leave open and share the remaining hours between up to four priorities. At the end of each week, record what was done, carried forward, left waiting or dropped.

Refer back to a cut stone

The Lapidary Process Book links each cabochon, freeform or small polished specimen to its source rough. Record cuts, equipment, abrasives, polishing and rework as the piece changes. Compare the finished result with earlier stages or with another piece from the same rough.

When you need to choose

Review why you decided

The Decision File sets viable options alongside your must-haves, facts, assumptions and unanswered questions. Record why you chose one and what you expected to happen. On the review date, compare the result with the earlier record.
