Paint recipe quantity card · Free · No account
Paint mixing ratios in millilitres or grams, and scale print percentages.
Type the parts of each paint in your recipe and one amount, either the total or one paint, and this card works out every quantity in ml or g. A scale mode gives the print percentage between two scales: 1:72 artwork prints at 150% for 1:48. The PDF is free.

Questions
How are the quantities worked out?
Each amount is the total times its parts divided by the sum of the parts. A 3:2:1 recipe at 12 g gives 6 g, 4 g and 2 g.
Are the amounts exact?
Amounts are shown to 0.01 ml or g. How close your mix comes depends on your scales, syringe or measuring cup.
Why are there no drops?
Drop size changes with the bottle, the paint and the angle, so the card uses millilitres or grams only.
How is the scale print percentage worked out?
It is 100 times the source scale number divided by the target scale number. From 1:72 to 1:48 is 100 times 72 over 48, or 150%.
Should the card be printed at actual size?
No. The figures are text, so any scale reads correctly. Print at 100% for the type sizes drawn.
