What you get

  1. Dates in, bars out

Type a start and a finish; the duration is worked out and the bar is drawn. No formatting rules to write.

  2. Day, week or month

One column per day for an event, per week for most projects, or per month for a long one.

  3. Colour by phase

Each phase gets its own bar colour, so overlapping stages are easy to tell apart.

  4. Prints across pages

Landscape across as many pages as it needs, with the task names repeated on every page.

The Project by week example

Five phases from Plan to Launch, % complete and milestones, across 26 weeks from the earliest start date, with each phase in its own colour.

Questions

Are my builder entries sent to Due Form?

No. The builder uses them in your browser to make the workbook on your device.

Information is sent to Due Form when you submit a form or use another service described on the How it works page.

How the utilities work

Do I type a duration?

No. Type the start and finish dates and the duration is worked out. A row with only one date, or a finish before its start, is highlighted and draws no bar until it is fixed.

How do I see a later part of a long project?

The Timeline starts at the earliest start date. On the Settings sheet, type how many days, weeks or months to move it on, and the whole chart moves.

Can I print it?

Yes. The Timeline prints landscape across as many pages as it needs, with the task names repeated on every page.

Does it link tasks that depend on each other?

No. Each task uses the dates you enter, and its dates do not change when another task changes. Record dependencies in Notes.
